Celebrating the visual languages of PEOPLE, COMMUNITY, CULTURE, and ENVIRONMENT through the global practice of resist-dye traditions and innovations, keeping in mind authenticity, reciprocity, and networking.
A big thank you to Aline Dargie of Bicycle Shibori and David Wilson, curator of The Possible, for making the indigo vat demo and talk happen this past Saturday!
Yoshiko Wada brought some rare pieces from her own indigo collection of textiles to share with the audience, and to explain a short history of natural dyes. She then walked through her 1-2-3 Organic Indigo Vat.
Enjoy the pics, and we hope to see you tomorrow at the UC Botanical Gardens at 6:00 pm! For more information, see here: https://41780.blackbaudhosting.com/41780/Film-Viewing-and-a-123-Indigo-vat-demonstration-with-Slow-Fiber-Studios
