This fashion season, indigo is what’s in vogue at Moratoire, Paris. “Ai-Ai”, an exhibition that runs through June 28 at the vintage shop’s Roi De Sicile space, celebrates Japanese craftsmanship and natural dyeing methods. Did you know that the Japanese word ‘ai’ translates to indigo as well as love?

The exhibition showcases beautiful indigo work-wear, accessories and home goods hand-dyed by Buaisou, an indigo farm and dye workshop founded in Tokushima, Japan.
In conjunction with the show, Buaisou is leading a series of tie-dye and itajime shibori workshops using the famous organic sukumo vat that they make from dried and fermented indigo leaves.
