Celebrating the visual languages of PEOPLE, COMMUNITY, CULTURE, and ENVIRONMENT through the global practice of resist-dye traditions and innovations, keeping in mind authenticity, reciprocity, and networking.
WSN in conjunction with Traditions Mexico, is happy to announce unique programs for the participants of the 10th International Shibori Symposium (10iss). A total of seven programs (four before and three after the conference) have been carefully designed, keeping in mind the sustainability of local cultural traditions and communities.
The programs offer a range of immersive textile and cultural experiences from visiting Teotitlan, a village of over 4,000 tapestry weavers and natural dyers to traveling through stunning mountains and valleys to the land of the Isthmus Zapotecs and Huaves.
Some programs even include a boat trip to a remote Pacific beach to witness murex dyeing from the hands of an old-school master!
