The 10th International Shibori Symposium (10iss) was a highly rewarding event characterized by its setting in beautiful Oaxaca, Mexico, and people’s collective efforts to further the preservation and sustainability of textile cultures and their environments. We want to extend deep appreciation to the 10iss committee, participating artists, artisans, and presenters, supporting venues and organizations, the community and government of Oaxaca, and all the attendees for helping make the 10iss another milestone accomplishment for the World Shibori Network and the international textile community.

To provide attendees with additional background information and to share with others some of the exciting exchanges that took place, the 10iss team has assembled a Press Kit, which includes:

  • 15 high-resolution images of 10iss events
  • A personal statement from co-chair Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada
  • A PDF of the official 10iss Program (English and Spanish text)
  • A PDF of the official 10iss Proceedings (English and Spanish text)

Download the Press Kit OR View Online

If you have photos of the symposium you would like to share, please post to the WSN Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/worldshiborinetwork or tag @World Shibori Network!

Are you interested in attending the next symposium in Japan in 2018? Sign up for the WSN mailing list and be first to receive registration information or become a WSN Member to receive priority registration. We hope to see you there!
