This trip reveals the region’s diverse and rich “Monozukuri”or Making traditions: ancient bast fiber weaving, wild vine basket-making, shifu-paper yarn weaving, Sashiko, rug-making, sericulture and silk reeling, natural dye practices, woodcarving, and more.
We sample delicious regional dishes, visit gardens, temples, and an ancient hot spring for a sense of Place to complete our story.
