After a delicious and healthy lunch, we immerse in a rare behind-the-scenes visit to the studio and exhibition space of charismatic fashion designer and artist, Christina Kim.
We relish an intimate visit with Christina at her DOSA Studios, a creative sanctuary where she unleashes her creativity and commitment to zero-waste and artisan traditions, designing at the intersection of art and utility. Yoshiko and Christina have sustained a creative collaboration over 25 years.
More than an event—we engage in private dialogue with the visionaries shaping the future of textile and sustainable fashion.
LACMA will invite by email their Friend or Supporter level and above members to their special Sunset Reception on April 19th and the Genesis Talk with architect Peter Zumthor and LACMA CEO Michael Govan on the evening of April 22nd.

This experience is designed for WSNF donors and members seeking a deep, academic, and sensory connection to the textile arts.
Registration Includes:
- All day chartered motor coach through dinner time.
- Lunch at Manuela of Hauser & Wirth, a global art gallery.
- A visit to the Dosa, Inc. Studio and Exhibition Space.
- “From boro textiles to Boro Objects:” A lecture by textile scholar Yoshiko I. Wada, PhD
- Talk by Christina Kim on the “Making of Kaya” for the 2020 Japan Society, NYC, Boro: Sustainable Aesthetics exhibition. She speaks also on her collaborative zero-waste patchwork quilt project with African-American quilt artist Laverne Brackens.
- Dinner at Bavel.
- Yoshiko will be available throughout the event with assistance from Chloe Lowder, a WSNF staff member.
