Join Yoshiko I. Wada, WSNF, Christina Kim, and Dosa Inc. in honoring Sharon S. Takeda, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) senior curator of Textiles and Costume and Japanese Art. We will relish an intimate, two-day immersive experience into the heart of textile and contemporary architecture. We celebrate the opening of the David Geffen Gallery, featuring textile treasures and a state-of-the-art shear fabric designed and made of sputtered chrome by Reiko Sudo (Nuno, Tokyo).
LACMA members are invited to the special Sunset Reception on April 19th and optional Genesis Talk with architect Peter Zumthor and LACMA CEO Michael Govan on the evening of April 22nd.

This experience is designed for WSNF donors and members seeking a deep, academic, and sensory connection to the textile arts.
Registration Includes:
- Museum entries and Dosa Studio event on April 20th and 21st
- From boro textiles to Boro objects: a lecture by Yoshiko I. Wada, textile scholar.
- Experience Christina Kim’s art of mending “KAYA” mosquito net originally commissioned for the 2020 Boro: Art of Sustainable Aesthetics exhibit at the Japan Society Gallery, NYC; and Christina’s zero waste project in India with the African American quilt artist, Laverne Bracken.
- Visits to the LACMA textile conservation lab and exhibition galleries
- Two curated lunches in Los Angeles: with Manuela at the Hauser & Wirth Gallery and at a cafe near LACMA
- The Celebration Dinner at Bavel on April 21st
- Transport on April 20th and April 21st
