Welcome to Slow Fiber Studios™
We are World Shibori Network’s events programming studio. We host dynamic hands-on workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and social gatherings. Our instructors and speakers are artisans, scholars, and textile specialists from places where textile culture runs deep–Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, the UK and more.
We believe the best way to gain insight into the “heart and soul” of a multi-faceted textile-making practice is by “living it.” So we take the holistic approach of immersing you in geocultural and historical contexts, teaching beyond techniques.
Slow Fiber Studios is committed to sustainability, diversity, equity, and integrity in textile practices. We believe in reciprocal dialogue and support a community of like-minded people. Be inspired. Help envision textile’s future with us.
